Weak cooling is one of the most common summer complaints. The cause is usually simple, but it is worth fixing early before it strains the compressor.
Low refrigerant
Small leaks over time lower the gas level, and the air feels cool rather than cold. A garage checks the pressure, looks for leaks and tops up the gas if needed.
Clogged cabin filter
A dirty cabin filter blocks airflow and causes musty smells. It is cheap to replace and is often the quickest improvement.
Dirty condenser
The condenser sits at the front of the car and collects dust and insects. When it cannot release heat, cooling drops, especially in traffic.
Cooling fan or electrical faults
If the AC cools while driving but not when idle, the radiator or condenser fan may not be working properly.
What to expect at the garage
A proper AC service includes a pressure check, cleaning, filter inspection and a temperature reading at the vents. With us, any part or extra work is shared as an estimate for your approval before it is done.
